Overall, North Pakistan (the mountains region) is paradise for adventure lovers.
Rock climbing in the Karakoram one can imagine super. Unfortunately, most of the rock quality not good and when it is good then you can see solid granite and certainly solid granite for rock climbers.
The well-known areas for rock climbing in North Pakistan is Baltistan, where one can find most of the quality rocks. The area in Baltistan is in the Baltoro Region along the Baltoro glacier, Snow Lake, Charakusa valley, Kondus & saltoro valley and Nangma Valley.
Some of the well-known rocks are Baltoro Muztagh, Trango Towers are the Karakoram’s most famous rock. In close proximity are other spires such as the Cathedral Towers, Uli Biaho, and Shipton Spire.
There are other areas likely Charakusa and Nangma Valleys in the Masherbrum Musztagh which are big wall heaven. The Nangma Valley is home to Amin Brakk the Great Tower (5800m). The Charakusa Glacier is also excellent with K7 being the most famous. These valleys have received a lot of climbers in the last ten years or so and there are already various ‘classic’ lines. New routes are being put up every year in these latter areas.
In Hunza & Nagar region along the famous Karakorum Highway, very quality rocks are everywhere and among them, the most famous rocks are Lady Finger & Pumori Chhish.
